Goodreads First Reads - Winner!

I don't think I have done one of these posts before but I should have when I won A Marriage Carol last year.  Anyway . . .

 

Have you checked out the Goodreads Giveaway page? If not you definitely should! Granted the times you don't win outweigh the times you win but it is a great way to find some new and interesting books and maybe get the opportunity to receive it in the mail (and I tell you there is nothing better than being surprised by a book in the mail).

 

I have been truly fortunately recently and have won two new books in the past month and they fit perfectly into my Equine reading challenge.

 

 

First is Painted Horses by Malcom Brooks

Seriously?! Look at that cover!! I also think it will go well with the book I just finished, Eighty Dollar Champion which is a horse book also set in the 50s, so some of the history will still be fresh.

 

 

The second I received while on vacation (what a nice package to open when I was only expecting a pile of bills)

 

Daniel's Esperanza by Veronica Randolph Batterson

I am really excited to read this one! One of the items on my bucket list is to see a mustang in the wild, and potential by the time I get to see this sanctuaries might be the only place to go.
