Review of The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter

Synopsis: "EVERY GIRL WHO HAS TAKEN THE TEST HAS DIED.

NOW IT'S KATE'S TURN.

It's always been just Kate and her mom--and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear that her mother won't live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld--and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he's crazy--until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she suceeds, she'll become Henry's future bride and a goddess.

IF SHE FAILS..."

My Review: One of my favorite myths is Hades and Persephone, while this story is very loosely based on mythology I really enjoyed it. The characters really make the whole story work, they are well developed. I also liked the fact that you don't find out about the tests until after they have occurred. There are some great twists to the story and they keep the book moving along nicely. You don't need to know anything about greek mythology to really enjoy the Goddess Test. I will be reading the next book in the series.

My Review: I really enjoyed this one, it was such a fast read that I was disappointed that it was over.  I give it a rating of Four Paws.

  1. I've seen this one around a lot, especially after it first came out. I kinda had mixed thoughts on reading it but I may take it under consideration someday because you make it sound great. :)
