3rd Quarter Mini Reviews: Waiting for Unicorns, I Capture the Castle, American Panda and More

So with reading and reviewing so many books, I am running out of days in which to share them with you.  I am going to start posting Mini Reviews of books that I read through out the year but couldn't find the time to post on the last Sunday of each quarter.

So I forgot to post these last week, so here are my mini reviews for the past three months . . .

This was a quick Middle Grade book that was a complete cover/title buy. It turned out to be highly emotional and better than expected. Four Paws

I received this in a book box and loved the cover, but after listening to the audio book was rather disappointed. Two Paws

I listened to the audio book for this one over the summer, though it would have better in the winter, but it was cute and fun to listen to. Three Paws and a Stump Wag.

This has been sitting on my shelf for over a year but it was highly intriguing. It was a bit slow, but I do appreciate the slow burn romance and how it doesn't take over the story completely, I am a little sad that it doesn't appear that they are going to continue this series. Three Paws.

This was a re-read for me getting ready for the second book, I listened to the audio book and it was outstanding! I adore Sal, Elise & of course Maud! Four Paws and a Stump Wag!

I was hoping for some words of wisdom and a lot of sentimental moments, and while it did have those, they are clearly meant for Sam. One Paw and a Stump Wag.

I don't ever remember reading these but Munchkin really enjoyed it and loved the similarities between him and Nate and being able to read it on his own. Four Paws!

I have heard a lot of great things about this one but sadly the audio book didn't capture my attention. Two Paws.

I have decided to add in the books I have DNFed because I have not really been listing them anywhere here and I want you to know the books I have tried but couldn't get through.

  1. On the one hand I like how realistic the ending of I Capture The Castle was but on the other hand I wanted a happy ending. Such mixed feelings.

    1. I agree, it was a realistic but unsatisfying ending, and honestly the whole book had that more mundane life tone, maybe that is why it didn't go well with me, I like things a little more over the top.
