Bedtime Story: I'm Not Scared by Dan Crisp

Read for: Children's Book Challenge

Synopsis: "Meet the bravest cat ever. He’s not afraid of dreadful monsters, ugly beats or icky creepy-crawlies! He’s not a scaredy-cat! But who’s that knocking at his door?
I'm Not Scared is a delightful story featuring enchanting illustrations and stunning embellishments.
Reading with children from birth is the best way to teach them the joy of reading. It is also a special way to build relationships, encourage imagination and have fun together."

My Review: I picked this book up for Munchkin since we have going through one of those phases where he is terrified of everything. I had hoped reading about a character that wasn't scared of the imaginary monsters lurking in the shadows it would help Munchkin be more brave. It started out that way until the end of the book when the scary things all showed up at the door and he ran away scared. Yup that plan backfired. It would be a great book for kids who aren't scared but if you are trying to encourage bravery over these spooky ideas I would leave this one on the shelf.

My Rating: This was not what we expected.  I am sure that if your child isn't already afraid of everything this would be okay, but for Munchkin it just confirmed his fears. We give this a rating of Two Paws.

Good Night! Sweet Dreams!
