Bedtime Story: Roadwork

Synopsis: "Every preschooler who is mad for machines will revel in this bright, boisterous picture book about the exciting process of building a road.

"Load the dirt. Load the dirt. Scoop and swing and drop. Slam it down into the truck. Bump! Whump! Whop!"

There are many big machines and busy people involved in building a road, and this riveting picture book follows them every step of the way. From clearing a pathway (SCREEK!) to rolling the tar (SQUELCH!) to sweeping up at the end (SWISH!), ROADWORK is sure to draw young onlookers with its rambunctious rhymes and noisy fun."

My Review: This was a good construction book for little ones, it shows the process and the trucks (that could be fun to point out while stuck in construction on a summer trip). The illustrations were great. The only odd thing for me were the sound effects, occasionally they didn't seem to fit what was going on for the page.

My Rating: I think this is a great story and a lot of fun for little kids, but I can't get over the sound effects. If they would have left those out it would have been a three or four paw book but with them in it I give it a rating of Two Paws and a Stump Wag.

Good Night! Sweet Dreams!
