Beginning Reader Review of Heavy Duty Trucks by Joyce Milton

Synopsis: "Did you know that monster dump trucks are so tall that drivers have to use ladders just to get to their seats? Or that cherry picker trucks don't pick cherries? Through easy-to-read text and realistic art, young truck enthusiasts will discover everything they ever wanted to know about their favorite mode of transportation."

My Review: This is a great level 3 book in my opinion. It is a subject matter that will really attract young readers, even reluctant ones. It had a variety of equipment, not just constructions like you would imagine looking at the cover. Developing readers will be able to read this book on their own, there isn't a lot of new words for them if they are already fans of trucks.

My Rating: This is a perfect book for Munchkin, I don't think it will take him long to work up to reading this book since he already knows what all the equipment and jobs are.  I give it a rating of Four Paws.
