Wow, what a week last week! Finally 12 weeks of distance learning are at an end and Munchkin has completed 2nd grade!! I feel like after we accomplished that, we can do anything. This week will be spent finishing things up, getting text books back to the school, picking up remaining personal items, getting summer reading books and worksheets/workbooks, getting all those cancelled appointments in or rescheduled and just getting set up for summer. I expect that come fall we will be right back into some kind of distance learning format and am trying to get as much prepared for that as well (maybe actually get some desks to work at instead of the kitchen table).
Now on to other news, if you have been around here for any amount of time, you know that I keep this blog for books and other small pleasures in life. I try to keep all politics off of this page. Unfortunately, with the way the world is currently, I feel like I have to make a statement. I keep seeing so many posts on other social media stating that if you aren't using your platform to support a cause then you are against the cause. I want to make it very clear that I will not be bringing political views, social views or anything like that on to this blog. This is my tiny place of peace in this crazy world we live in, this is the one place I can go and know it is purely for the pleasure of reading. I hope that you can all count on this as a place to come to for a break from the world as well, we all need a moment of peace from time to time. I do however encourage you to do your research, not only on your own stance but also on the opposing stances so that we can all better communicate with one another instead of lashing out at each other and just maybe we will find ourselves a little closer in beliefs than we originally thought.
And with that, I will bring us back to the regular programming here, books, books and more books.
