Bedtime Story: I Love You Through and Through

Synopsis: " rhyming story of unconditional love and adorable illustrations of a toddler and a teddy bear who declare "I love you through and through!"

I love your hair and eyes,
Your giggles and cries...

A toddler and his teddy bear illustrate a young child's happy side, sad side, silly side, mad side, and more! Babies and toddlers will feel loved all over when they hear this declaration of adoration and affection!
The book has sturdy cardstock pages and a padded cover with rounded corners for safe handling by little ones."

My Review: This was a fun little book reminding us all the ways we love our little ones, even when they drive us crazy! It is very cute with clear illustrations for little ones and cute rhymes. I love that some parts you can point out the things you love about your little ones, like their toes, and as they get bigger you can act them out together. Very cute and fun book.

My Rating: Another great book to share with the Munchkin. I give it a rating of Three Paws.

After Dark Review of Hot or Cold by ER Pierce

Here we are, February 1st, kicking off a month of Lust and Love!!
I will be sharing a variety of books with you all surrounding the theme of lust, love and all that lies between. I will have some sweet romances, some childrens love books, and of course plenty of After Dark Steam for all different tastes! Hope you will all stop in and join me!

I have added After Dark Reviews to my blog as a way of notifying you of a review of a book with Adult themes and scenes. From now on I will keep my reviews of all books I read that have explicit scenes in them for late night posts for those of you who prefer to avoid them or easy to find for those of you who seek them out ;)

Synopsis: "Ryan and Samantha are back, and steamier than ever...

When Samantha Baker spies a present waiting on her desk, her heart frantically beats. Is it from Ryan?

What could it possibly be?

On the flip side, can Ryan give up his rigid restraint and schedules in favor of impulse and passion?

Will Samantha be the one to make him lose control?"

My Review: This is the next installment of the Hot Lunch series that I started reading a couple of months ago. I love that it is short enough to read when I need a quick break from work, chores and the munchkin. It has just the right amount of steam. While it is a short installment, it has so much depth to the story, you don't feel like you are missing anything. Both Ryan and Sam are well developed characters and we get to learn a little more about their pasts in Hot or Cold. But a little warning for you, this one has a huge cliffhanger!! Thank goodness that the next Hot Lunch installment comes out soon!!

My Rating: I loved Hot or Cold just as much, if not more than, Eating Out.  I got to get a little of the backstory that I was craving and now am so anxious to read the next installment! I give it a rating of Four Paws and a Stump Wag!

Hot or Cold was sent to me by the author to read and review.

Wednesday Writing

So Wednesday is my official writing update day. I have so many story projects going on and I need a push to get some done. So I will be trying to post each Wednesday about how my writing adventures are going (and I may need a swift kick in the pants by you guys sometimes).

Current Active Project:

Tamlyn Marie's Grace -

Think Cinderella only with a matchmaker ;)

Other Works in Progress:

The New Old Home - 17,193 words

Everyone dreams of winning the lottery, but what would you do with that money? That is the question presented to Natalie, when she is at the lowest point in her life, she is presented with an opportunity to make any normal person's dreams come true, but all those winnings can't give her what she wants most.

Princess Bs - 32,131 words

A story about a woman, recently divorced and returned to her home town to figure out what is next. She encounters an old friend and spends a weekend with him and his daughters. Feelings that are long since buried are rising up again, but are her recent loss and his current life going to stand in the way of their happily ever after?

Night Rider - 17,229

Alice is a recent high school graduate who is a very accomplished competitive rider in Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, and Western/Rodeo. Her parents had arranged for her to attend a private college on the east coast geared specifically to equine professions. However, Alice wants to focus on her studies in English Literature. When she arrives at the college she hides her riding abilities, but can she keep her talent and love of horses hidden?

The Last Mountains - 13,468 (handwritten) = 15,766 (typed)

A equine shapeshifting family is being hunted to near extinction and the young new leader must go against all her lessons and approach the elite council for aide. Will they help her? How will she keep her family's traditions and values alive, let alone her herd?

Other Ideas Plotting:

Bloodsoar's Story
A pegasus struggles through life, ejected from the herd, near capture by humans.

The Assassin's Assassin
A student learns what the school is really teaching and sets out to destroy those who support the program.

Angel Story
Angels battle out an age old feud in a parallel world

So still no progress this month.  I think since my progress has been so slow that I am going to have Writing Wednesday only once a month, and maybe increase it to every two weeks if I get the ball rolling.  Someday soon I am going to get some time for my writing, hmmmm maybe thats what I should ask hubby to give me for my birthday, a day or weekend of writing, crafting and reading!

I didn't get posting done this last week but did do a lot of reading in preparation for February's Month of Lust and Love! I hope you will all be able to stop in this next month, I will have a variety of books featuring love, lust, crushes, and steam! I am trying to have a new book for each day of the month for you and trying to have a little something for everyone's tastes! And please bear with me as the regular schedule of bedtime stories on fridays and graphic novels will be bumped a little to accommodate complete series reviews.

Hopefully I can get my Getting Personal post up later today and since I missed Saturday's Movie v. Book post, I will try to get it up this week before the rush of posts in February!

I hope you are all having a good week and that you are enjoying some great reading!

Lets Get Personal: Geeky Girl comes out of the umm. . .Basement?

So after watching an episode of King of the Nerds I am finally giving into the truth of things. I am letting me Geek flag fly and coming out of where ever it is that geeks and nerds come out of, I am guessing the Basement since the closet is already taken. While watching King of the Nerds and thinking it totally awesome that they got to cosplay and managing to answer the Nerdoff questions correctly I decided what is the use of denying it anymore.

The Merriam Webster Dicitionary defines geek as "a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken or snake 2: a person often of an intellectual bent who is disliked 3: an enthusiast or expert especially in a technological field or activity <computer geek> "

Wikipedia defines Geek as "The word geek is a slang term for odd or non-mainstream people, with different connotations ranging from "a computer expert or enthusiast" to "a person heavily interested in a hobby", with a general pejorative meaning of "a peculiar or otherwise dislikable person, esp[ecially] one who is perceived to be overly intellectual".[1]
Although often considered as a pejorative, the term is also often used self-referentially without malice or as a source of pride."

So, after years of hiding behind my brother's love of Star Wars to secretly feed my own obsession I am admitting to it. It isn't Christmas to me without watching the original three movies, nearly every thing I see that is Star Wars I purchase, and I regularly contact my mother to make sure my brother hasn't decided to sell or get rid of his collection of action figures, sheets, models, etc.  But it isn't just Star Wars that makes a person a Geek.

What else makes me a geek, you ask.  Well, I like to think of myself as a more traditional geek. I never really got into video games (unless you count the old Atari that my mother made us get rid of because my dad and I played it too much) or online games (though they could easily become an obsession).  Instead, I have enjoyed a healthy obsession with fantasy books and writing of my own. I also enjoy a good role play (I kind of miss it actually, I really need to track down some of my old sites).  I have a persona or two and have an awesome costume or two to cosplay, though I don't really have anyone or anywhere to go since most of my local friends are definitely not geeks. A collection of vintage My Little Ponies. Um lets see what else, oh, I was in just about every academic club you could imagine, math, honor society, band, etc. etc. While I didn't do the video games, I could show you at least a couple dozen ways of playing solitaire ;)

So there you have it, while just brushing the surface I have outed myself as a full blown Geek!

Not a clear picture but here is me at the My Little Pony Convention dressed up as my persona Cuore Solitario
