Bout of Books Readathon Signup

Just because I just finished Dewey's Readathon doesn't mean I got enough reading done. In fact most of my reading for that one revolved around Munchkin children's books and Graphic Novels because they were quick and easy. That means I didn't get any of the reading done that I really needed to or wanted to get done. Then I came across the Bout of Books.  A week long readathon that I can work into my daily schedule sounds prefect for me. I can read at work and in the evenings after Munchkin goes to bed instead of trying to adjust schedules for one day.

 



The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 12th and runs through Sunday, May 18th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. So this post is going to be my base for the week, I will continue to come back and update it each day with my progress (as I already have a lot of posts planned for this week and don't want things too jumbled up).  I will also be updating via twitter at @EasternSunset9

Time Devoted to Reading

I would like to read between 3-5 hours each day and read about 400 pages each day.

My Goals

Read a total of 2,500 pages
Read at least 3 hours each day
Read and finish at least 2 requested review novels (preferably 3)
Finish all of my currently reading novels
I usually read 3 - 5 books a week so my goal is to read a total of 8 this week

Thoughts: I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked reading. I did get a little distracted browsing the internet at work :( shame on me. Tuesday is another day though and I hope to finish a book or two!

Thoughts: Of course this had to be the busiest week in the office! Almost no reading done during the day so I had to make up for it after Munchkin went to bed, looks like it is going to be a long exhausting week!

Thoughts: I did read for more time today but with smaller print the page count went down.  I am happy with how much reading I am getting done though, I just wish I had more time to read the print books I want to finish.

Thoughts: Finally reached my daily goal, I will definitely be paying for this week of staying up late reading but it will be worth it.  I have definitely be veering off my planned to read list but I don't mind as long as I am working on my overall TBR list.
