Just because I just finished Dewey's Readathon doesn't mean I got enough reading done. In fact most of my reading for that one revolved around Munchkin children's books and Graphic Novels because they were quick and easy. That means I didn't get any of the reading done that I really needed to or wanted to get done. Then I came across the Bout of Books. A week long readathon that I can work into my daily schedule sounds prefect for me. I can read at work and in the evenings after Munchkin goes to bed instead of trying to adjust schedules for one day.
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 12th and runs through Sunday, May 18th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 10 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team
So this post is going to be my base for the week, I will continue to come back and update it each day with my progress (as I already have a lot of posts planned for this week and don't want things too jumbled up). I will also be updating via twitter at @EasternSunset9

Thoughts: Only a tiny bit of reading today as I read a new book with Munchkin, but again the weekends are the only time I get to spend with Hubby so reading definitely takes a back seat.
WOw!! Great job yesterday!! You got a lot read. I am trying to get stuff done for my Hercules Project Disney this week so right now I am watching Hercules ... that counts right??? :)
ReplyDeletehaha I wondered the same thing when I wanted to finally watch Catching Fire last night. If the movie is based on a book you have read I think it should totally count, especially since you are using it for a project.
DeleteI'm so bummed I accidentally missed Dewey's readathon in April! Oh well. *sigh* I'll catch it next time. And you're right - never too many readathons!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're happy with how much reading you're getting done. That's the important thing! It's all about the enjoyment and having fun.
Happy reading!
I usually end up missing Dewey's Readathons as well, it is hard to justify an entire Saturday to reading when I only have the weekends to spend with Hubby (we work opposite schedules so never see each other during the week) so Bout of Books is great to be able to work it into my schedule.
