Christmas Fun Day 4: Chex Mix Time

Hello and Happy Holiday season everyone! In addition to my Advent Reads event this holiday season, I thought I would post earlier in the day with different things we do each day to have fun and celebrate this season. I hope you will join us and also maybe share some of your own traditions or ways you celebrate.

I am not much of a baker so I don't make much for the holidays but one of the two goodies people look forward to me making each year is the Chex Mix. I can sometimes go through as many as 12 batches during this holiday month. I have enlisted Munchkin's help to shake up the mix before baking it up.

Do you have a signature treat you make every year? What is your favorite goodie to make? And to eat?

  1. While not technically a "Chec mix", I use Chex to make Christmas Crack every year. A mixture of Chex, pretzels, peanuts, and M&Ms coated in white melting chocolate. It's soooo good. I also love making Oreo truffles and molasses cookies. It's becoming a tradition.

    1. ooh Oreo Truffles?! That sounds delicious! I am not much for sweets and not really into chocolate so most of my goodies are savory treats.

  2. I'm not a Chex Mix fan, but my family is. I enjoy baking and buying cookies around Christmas, and I love chocolates.

    1. Buying cookies, that is more up my alley! For one of Munchkin's birthdays I had to have a friend come over to make the cookies because I couldn't get them to stay in the shape of the cutter. I guess there are different types of sugar cookie formulas for different purposes. I am a lost cause in the baking world LOL!
