Mini Reviews: The Misfits, Turning Pointe, Love & Muddy Puddles & Fantastic Beasts

So with reading and reviewing so many books, I am running out of days in which to share them with you.  I am going to start posting Mini Reviews of books that I read through out the month but couldn't find the time to post on the last Sunday of each month.

It has been a while since I last posted some mini reviews.  Several of these books have been waiting many months to be shared so I figured I better do it now.

I had never heard of this series until searching for a banned book (the 2nd book in the series is on the challenged/banned book list).  This book while being a middle grade book really packs a punch. The characters are well developed and seem very real as are the issues they face. Four Paws & a Stump Wag!

A romantic comedy for YA set in Australia, packed with chic flick type cliche tropes but is still a fun and light read. Two Paws and a Stump Wag.

I am always attracted to ballet books and this was a quick and light read with some really fun characters.  Three Paws.

This was a fun addition to the Harry Potter series (odd that I would like a book outside the series better than the actual series),  I would have liked some sketches or illustrations more throughout the book, especially of the defining features. Three Paws and a Stump Wag.

I found this to be an interesting story and I liked all the animals and magical elements (I have yet to see the movie but will definitely be doing so).  I am not sure why it is written as a screenplay and not a novel though.  Three Paws.

  1. That is funny that picked up other Harry Potter books and liked them more. I haven't read extra HP books.

    1. I don't know why I decided to pick them up, other than I like the creatures more than anything else in the series. It is funny that I liked them more.

  2. I wish I was reading so many books I was running out of time to review! I'm buying books like crazy lately and feel like I'll never finish them before I die. Sigh! Looks like a fun bunch of books. I've never read these Harry Potter books but I think it's funny you liked them better than the originals.
