Dewey Readathon Wrapup post

A little late posting this because well, I was finishing up the final hour and Munchkin woke up and it has been go go go with him ever since! Gosh toddlers are exhausting!!

I got about half way through my final book and hope to finish today or tomorrow at least.

Here is my final survey:

Which hour was most daunting for you?  Probably Hours 15 - 18 because Hubby got home and was pestering me (I swear at times he is worse than my little boy).

Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year? I definitely couldn't put down Marriage Merger (in fact the whole Married to a Billionaire series was good), and while I didn't read them for this readathon I highly suggest the Deck of Lies series by Jade Varden, they keep the pages turning!

Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? My only thought was to have more activities on the main blog. At times I would have liked to participate in a mini challenge but linking to other blogs and then getting distracted from the main goal of reading was a difficulty for me.

What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon? The motivation from the co-hosts and of course the cheerleaders that stopped by and encouraged me were awesome!

How many books did you read? 2.5 I really wanted to read more but just had too much trouble with a house full

What were the names of the books you read? Marriage Merger, The Palace Library and Return to Shanhasson

Which book did you enjoy most? I found Marriage Merger to be the best for me, kept my attention to the end.

Which did you enjoy least? The Palace Library, it was too much like The Chronicles of Narnia to be truly unique and capture my attention

If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders? NA

How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time? I really want to participate again but maybe will have to change the locks and kick Hubby and Munchkin out for the day LOL!

All in all I thought I did pretty good this readathon considering the toddler, dog, cat, mom and hubby, not to mention the several friends that chose to stop by throughout the day.  I read a total of 10-11 hours, I know I can do better and plan to do that next time!

  1. Every time I do a read-a-thon, I tweak what I do a little bit to see what works best for me or what I should change.

    1. This is my first but I can see how each time you find new and better ways to keep focused and motivated.

  2. Yay! Glad you were able to read so much. I just looked up the Married to a Billionaire series and I may have to check it out. I remember seeing it before and I think I was supposed to mark it TBR but never did. Sooo... I did now!!
