Read for: Requested Review/ Netgalley & I Love Katie Ruggle's books!
Synopsis: "He lost his mentor.
He lost his K9 partner.
He almost lost his will to live.
But when a ruthless killer targets a woman on the run, Theo and his new K9 companion will do whatever it takes to survive—and save the woman neither can live without.
Grieving the death of his partner, Theo Bosco has no room in his life for distractions. Though his instincts scream that he should avoid Juliet 'Jules' Jackson, he can't seem to stay away. It doesn't help that Theo's new K9 companion has fallen head over paws with Jules's rambunctious family.
Or that when he's with her, Theo finally knows peace.
When Jules rescued her siblings, whisking them away to the safety of the beautifully rugged Colorado Rockies, she never expected to catch the eye—or the heart—of a cop. Yet as Jules struggles to fight her growing attraction to the brooding K9 officer, another threat lurks much closer to home...
And this time, there's no escape."
My Review: I absolutely loved Katie Ruggle's Rocky Mountain Search and Rescue series so as soon as I found out about this book I jumped at the opportunity. I really enjoyed the characters in this book, Theo has a lot of depth to his character and is mirrored in Viggie. Jules and her family are all so unique and I found it really engrossing watching them develop and the storyline move along. The suspense in this one comes from all angles and you just never know what is going to happen next. You think one thing is going to happen and then Ruggle throws a crazy twist at you, I promise you won't want to put this one down. Now the anxious wait for the next book is on!

My Rating: I am not normally a fan of suspense, thriller, mystery, etc. but Katie Ruggle melds them so perfectly with relatable characters you quickly grow to care about and a good bit of chemistry and romance. I can't help but give this book a rating of Four Paws!
I received this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Haven't heard of this author. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of her until I received the book at the convention either, but I am so glad I did. What I love is that she releases the books in her series in quick succession so you don't have to wait a year between each book. I think the second book in this series is scheduled for release in September.
