Fun with Munchkin: Blanket Fort

As part of my resolutions for 2016, I wanted to do more fun things with Munchkin and as a family.  I will be posting sporadically about some of the fun adventures we are having together.

So you know those beautiful picturesque fall scenes you see all the time? That is what so many think it is like in the fall here in NE, but in actuality the majority of the time it is rainy and cloudy in the fall. Last weekend was no different, and Munchkin was feeling a little under the weather so I planned something fun for him . . .

Blanket Fort!
It was huge, took up our entire living room and fit the coffee table and a queen sized mattress in it.

See the inside, nice and cozy and comfy (sorry about the giant spot light).

Munchkin had fun Skyping with Grandma & Grandpa from inside his fort

And we watched movies and cartoons with popcorn and snacks.

We didn't sleep in it just because Munchkin does not sleep well anywhere but his own bed, but we did keep it up all weekend long. He wasn't too happy about taking it down but promises were made to do it again!

  1. Gnome LOVES blanket forts! We haven't made one for a while. Baby hasn't experienced one yet. We should make one during Fall Break. Blanket forts are so much fun!

    1. p.s. I love the idea of watching movies in the fort. We haven't done that before.

    2. I always loved making forts as a kid, but I guess my Hubby never really did make them. I am glad we did this, we both had so much fun. I will have to see if we can do it again when Hubby is home but it may become something for just me and Munchkin (Hubby hates re-arranging furniture or making any changes, even temporary ones so this may not be his cup of tea).

I think next time instead of trying to look up at the TV and hurting our necks, I might try the portable DVD player (I don't know why I didn't think of it in the first place).
