Bedtime Story: The Thank You Book by Mo Willems

Read For: Children's Book Challenge & we love Elephant & Piggie books

Synopsis: "Gerald is careful. Piggie is not.
Piggie cannot help smiling. Gerald can.
Gerald worries so that Piggie does not have to.

Gerald and Piggie are best friends.

In The Thank You Book!, Piggie wants to thank EVERYONE. But Gerald is worried Piggie will forget someone . . . someone important."

My Review: This is another great Elephant and Piggie book and a great reminder to little ones about thanking people. It is also a great reminder for everyone that sometimes we forget to thank those nearest to us. Munchkin and I also had a blast with all the different voices through out the book, I am assuming many of them are characters in other books in the series.

My Rating: This is a great reminder to say thank you even for the smallest of things. We haven't read many of the Elephant & Piggie books so didn't recognize most of the characters but it was still great to read.  We give it a rating of Four Paws!

Note: I just recently discovered this is the last book that is going to be released in the Elephant and Piggie series :(

Good Night! Sweet Dreams!

  1. WHAT!?!?!? No more Elephant and Piggie books!?!?!? My daughter is going to be SO sad. We are HUGE Mo Willems fans around here.

Gnome and I have started reading these in a new way. I read Gerald's bubbles and she reads Piggie's. Gnome really loves reading them this way.

    1. I know, we just discovered these books but at least there are already I think 25 of them. It is sad though but I love that this was the book they made for the end, it was a sweet way to say goodbye to the series.

That is a great way to read the books! They are easy enough for those just starting to read to sound out. Right now Munchkin gets a kick out of the voices I use for them.

  2. This book is beautiful. It was the perfect conclusion to a wonderful series. And, yes, I cried when I reached the end.

    1. Thanks for stopping by Penelope! I probably would have shed a tear too if I had followed the whole series, but we just got into Elephant and Piggie so we still get to experience the books as new for a couple of years yet.
